Fun at the Ceilidh

This year's Ceilidh was, like previous years, a great success. 80 people danced the night away at Quorn Village Hall.

The dance, organised by the trustees, was energetic, amusing, and sometimes even a little confusing! It was a challenge to all those who attempted to follow the instructions of Charlie Corcoran, a well-known Leicestershire ceilidh caller.  

Alan Nominated for Pride of Loughborough Awards

Alan was suprised to discover that he is a finalist in the Pride of Loughborough Awards. He has been nominated in two catergories, Citizen of the Year and Loughborough's Pride Award.

The inaugural award ceremony will take place on Friday 23rd of November at the Radisson Blue East Midlands Airport. The awards aim to celebrate the achievements of local businesses, charities and outstanding members of the community.

Over £500 raised at Pie Night

The recent Pie Night at Beaumanor Hall was a great success. Everyone agreed that the pies were delicious! The KJ Trust also managed to raise over £500 by holding the event. A big thank you to everyone who attended.

Alan finishes the Great North Run

This year, Alan competed in the The Bupa Great North Run as part of his 2012 challenge. This is the third time he has competed in the race, which takes place every September. 

KJ Trust Awards Grant to Holywell Primary School

A cheque for £500 has been presented to Iain Marjoram, a teacher at Holywell Primary School. Iain plans to use the money raise standards in Science throughout the school. This will be achieved by encouraging teachers to organise more “hands-on" science exercises.

Alan's 2012 Challenge

Alan has decided to try and raise £2012 in 2012. He will do this by running, cycling, canoeing, swimming and walking a total of 2012 kilometres throughout the year.

Trust Awards £500 Grant to Leicestershire Primary School

The KJ Trust has awarded St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School a grant of £500. The School will use the money to help the teachers at the School develop their writing and poetry skills. Mrs Julie Gardner, the teacher who subnitted the the proposal, has organised for a poet to run a series of workshops for the staff at St. Bartholomew's.

Ceilidh 9th March 2013!

The Trust is holding another Ceilidh on Saturday 9th March 2013 at Quorn Village Hall. Charlie Corcoran will be our caller again. 2011 Quiz Night a Great Success

On Saturday 5th March The KJ Trust hosted another quiz night at Quorn Village Hall. 93 people bought tickets to the quiz, which lasted for more than four hours!
